A Homage to Bob Dylan

Singer/songwriter and musician, Denny Newman,
has just recorded his first acoustic album ‘IS IT ANY WONDER’.
It comprises twelve previously unreleased songs written over a period of years,
some dating back to the beginning of his career in the early 1970’s.
This career has seen him work as a writer and session player for Manfred Mann, composing ‘Lies’ through the 80’s, ‘Killer on the Loose’ and ‘Telegram to Monica’. Newman was also a featured vocalist on the album ‘Masque’ and the single ‘Geronimos Cadillac’. He has previously released four ‘Denny Newman’ cd’s and has toured USA, Japan, and throughout Europe as guitarist with The Mick Taylor Band and bassist with The Pirates, and last year toured Holland with Snowy White’s Blues Drivers’.
He and his song ‘Burying ground’ are featured on the Mick Taylor DVD ‘The Tokyo concerts’ and
he has been described as ‘the best kept secret in British blues’ being reviewed
on the BBC and other networked radio and TV.
His new direction is prompted by a desire to record and release previously unfinished works,
and the recent ‘Bob Dylan tribute’ concerts selling out in his home town of ‘Odenbach’.
The promotion of ‘IS IT ANY WONDER’ sees Newman play for the first time as a solo acoustic artist performing original songs, along with material by Dylan and the classic blues ‘songbook’.
There is a Facebook, page for Denny Newman, plus various clips on Youtube.
